The Field Guide for Falmouth was a product of the 2011 Vernacular Architecture Forum annual conference, which was held in Falmouth in June of that year. For that event, historic Falmouth was divided into 5 zones, listed to the left. UVA students generated Field Guide entries under the direction of architectural historian Louis P. Nelson. They draw on archival research in Spanishtown and Kingston and 8 years of careful field work in Falmouth.
